Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 11, 2026

Introduction

Talkshop ("we," "our," or "us") operates the talkshop.by website, the Talkshop mobile application, and the Talkshop browser extension (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and any optional profile information you choose to provide (such as a bio or website URL).

Product data. When you save a product, we collect the URL you provide and any notes you add. We also automatically extract publicly available product information from saved URLs, including product names, prices, images, descriptions, and brand details.

Payment information. If you subscribe, your payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We receive only a reference identifier and your subscription status.

Usage data. We collect basic server logs necessary to operate the Service, including IP addresses, request timestamps, and error information. These logs are kept transiently for security, debugging, and reliability.

Activity and analytics data. To understand how the Service is used and to improve it, we record events describing your activity — for example, the pages and screens you view and the actions you take (such as saving a product or running a search). Each event is associated with a first-party identifier stored on your device, a session identifier, and, once you sign in, your account; activity recorded before you sign in is linked to your account when you log in so we can understand the full journey. With each event we store limited context: the page or path, the referring site, the platform (web or browser extension), your approximate location (country, region, and city, plus coordinates rounded to roughly 11 km) derived from your IP address at the time of the request, and your device category (mobile, tablet, or desktop). We do not store your precise location, your raw IP address, or your full browser user-agent string in this analytics data. This analytics is first-party — we operate it ourselves, the data stays with us, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising. We may also use a privacy-respecting third-party analytics tool for aggregate traffic measurement.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Process your product saves and display your profile
  • Process subscription payments
  • Communicate with you about your account or the Service
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not serve advertisements.

Third-party service providers

We use third-party companies and services to facilitate our Service, including for authentication, database hosting, payment processing, application hosting, image storage, and data processing. These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies for authentication purposes — to keep you signed in across sessions. We also store a first-party analytics identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage, and a session identifier in session storage, so we can recognize your browser across visits and measure how the Service is used (see "Activity and analytics data" above). These are first-party only — we do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your data to third parties.

The browser extension uses local browser storage to cache your authentication session and an analytics identifier. This data remains on your device except when sent to us as described in this policy, and is not shared with third parties.

Browser extension

The Talkshop browser extension requires certain browser permissions to function. It reads your authentication cookies from talkshop.by to verify your identity. When you choose to save a product, it reads the URL of your currently active browser tab.

The extension does not monitor, record, or transmit your browsing history. It does not collect data from any page unless you explicitly initiate a save action. It does not modify web page content.

We do record basic analytics about your use of the extension itself — for example, when a save begins or completes — to help us improve it, as described in "Activity and analytics data" above.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. You may delete individual saves at any time through the Service.

You may request deletion of your entire account through the settings page. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information and saved data from our active systems. Some information may be retained in backups for a limited period before being permanently deleted.

Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
